As therapeutic options for T2D rapidly evolve, staying current with evidence-based guidance is essential for optimizing care. This session reviews diabetes medication management through the 2026 ADA Standards of Care, highlighting recently approved agents and expanded indications for established therapies. Attendees will examine mechanisms of action, efficacy, safety, and outcomes data to understand each therapy’s role in treatment algorithms. The session will also preview key agents in the development pipeline and innovations poised to influence clinical practice. Attendees will leave prepared to apply updated guidelines, compare emerging and existing therapies, and anticipate how forthcoming medications may shape diabetes management.

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Apply the 2026 ADA Standards of Care in Diabetes to medication management.
Compare existing and new medications by discussing mechanisms of action, efficacy, side effects, precautions, and outcomes data.
Describe updates on approved and pipeline medications.
