This session reviews how to equip DSMES (Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support) and DPP (Diabetes Prevention Program) program clinicians with strategies, messaging approaches, and engagement tools to keep participants enrolled and actively engaged in classes even when they are taking GLP-1 RA medications.
Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
Understand how GLP-1 medications impact behavior change, appetite, glycemic outcomes, and participant motivation.
Identify unique barriers and misconceptions for participants taking GLP-1 RA medications.
Apply evidence-informed strategies to increase commitment, attendance, and completion of DSMES/DPP.
