The session will explore how close glucose monitoring can be used to alter the course of pregnancy and how timely, evidence‑based intervention can improve outcomes. Participants will learn to apply the Standards of Care by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) guidelines, as well as explore new strategies for care through case studies. The interactive session will highlight the essential role of the DCES by illustrating how partnerships with internal and external stakeholders can transform a high-risk pregnancy into a story of prosperous outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Describe the challenges faced by pregnant individuals living with pre‑existing diabetes and how these factors influence the early prenatal experience.
  • Apply current Standards of Care to the management of pre‑existing diabetes during pregnancy.
  • Demonstrate the essential role of the DCES in coordinating care to improve outcomes for high‑risk pregnancies.
