(F01) Dual Glucose-Ketone Monitoring is Coming: What Do We Know About Ketones?
Friday, August 7, 2026
10:20 AM - 11:05 AM ET
CE: .75 CE
This presentation provides an overview of ketone physiology and the clinical role of dual glucose–ketone monitoring in diabetes care. Attendees will learn what ketones are, when and why they rise, and how simultaneous glucose and ketone data can support earlier detection of ketosis, improve sick-day management, and reduce the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis through timely clinical and patient-driven interventions.
Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
Describe what ketones are, how they are produced, and their clinical significance in diabetes care.
Explain the rationale for dual glucose–ketone monitoring and how it improves early detection of ketosis and DKA risk.
Apply dual glucose–ketone monitoring data to clinical decision-making, including sick-day management and insulin adjustments.
