Sleep is something we could all use a bit more of, but did you know that sleep, and a lack thereof, can affect weight management? Many of our patients with diabetes are told to make sure they are getting good quality sleep, but oftentimes, they don't know the implications that come with not getting enough sleep. Sleep deprivation can affect hormones that trigger late-night snacking habits, impact the brain's reward center, and lead to impulsive eating. This session will help attendees understand how sleep and weight management correlate and how to help improve sleep hygiene.
