Achieving high-quality inpatient diabetes care requires more than protocols—it demands leadership, collaboration, and culture change. This presentation describes the development of a Diabetes Center of Excellence designed to standardize inpatient glycemic management and achieve both Joint Commission Advanced Inpatient Diabetes Certification and Leapfrog/ADA diabetes designation. Attendees will learn how interdisciplinary governance, evidence-based care standardization, and performance metrics were leveraged to drive systemwide improvement. Through practical examples, this session highlights strategies for leading multidisciplinary teams, aligning stakeholders, and sustaining improvements in complex healthcare environments. Participants will gain actionable insights into building scalable, team-based models that improve safety, accountability, and outcomes in inpatient diabetes care.
