(M16) Building a Diabetes Center of Excellence to Achieve an Inpatient Diabetes Certification

Achieving high-quality inpatient diabetes care requires more than protocols—it demands leadership, collaboration, and culture change. This presentation describes the development of a Diabetes Center of Excellence designed to standardize inpatient glycemic management and achieve both Joint Commission Advanced Inpatient Diabetes Certification and Leapfrog/ADA diabetes designation. Attendees will learn how interdisciplinary governance, evidence-based care standardization, and performance metrics were leveraged to drive systemwide improvement.
