Children and youth with diabetes experience persistent racial and economic disparities in disease management and access to support services. There is a need for interventions that respond to the cultural strengths and psychosocial burdens of underserved youth with diabetes and their families. When traditional coping resources are unavailable or exacerbated, Latinx parents of youth with diabetes may turn to religious/spiritual resources embedded in their daily lives or community. Yet, there is a gap in knowledge about the religious/spiritual experiences and needs of Latinx parents of youth with diabetes. The goal of this research was to understand parental experiences with religion/spirituality and identify unmet psychosocial needs of Latinx parents of youth with diabetes. Virtual and in-person interviews with parents of Latinx youth, ages 6 to 17, were completed in English or Spanish, to explore parents' religious/spiritual resources and needs related to youth diabetes.
