Mature Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY) affects approximately 1-6% of people with diabetes, but often goes undiagnosed. An accurate diagnosis is critical to ensure appropriate treatment and management of the diabetes and associated complications. This session will examine the most common types of MODY, highlight defining features of each major subtype that will aid in accurate diagnosis, discuss appropriate treatments for each type of MODY, and discuss screening and management of complications associated with each type of MODY. Attendees will participate in a discussion of several pediatric MODY case studies using an interactive polling system.
