Approximately 9% of adults with diabetes reported past-month cannabis use in the United States, which continues to be on the rise. Clinicians should be especially vigilant regarding cannabis use among patients with T1D, as moderate use is associated with a two-fold increased risk of diabetic ketoacidosis. In those with T2D, the data regarding cannabis use remains mixed and inconclusive. Also, clinicians should be aware of recent developments that products sold in some vape shops may contain up to 33% more potency than standard tetrahydrocannabinol products from dispensaries. This poster discusses the diagnosis and treatment of cannabis use disorder, an ever-growing concern.
