Raynaud's phenomenon, sometimes linked to artifactual hypoglycemia, can lead to excessive treatment of hypoglycemia in people with diabetes. It can be difficult to diagnose because patients present with significantly low blood glucose levels but a complete absence of signs or symptoms of hypoglycemia. This condition may be suspected in patients presenting with no history of hypoglycemia unawareness, with no clinical adrenergic or neuroglycopenic symptoms, and with repeat fingerstick glucose measurements that do not respond to treatment using the 15/15 rule. This poster reviews a case study with treatment implications for this condition.
