(P201) Co-Creating the PreventT2 Curriculum With American Indian and Alaska Native Communities

American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) adults have a greater chance of having T2D than any other U.S. racial group. Tribal leaders and partners expressed the need for cultural tailoring of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Diabetes Prevention Program PreventT2 curriculum. This poster describes a co-creation framework used to culturally adapt the PreventT2 curriculum, including gathering recommendations from T2D prevention experts in AI/AN communities, working with Native-owned research and design agencies, and field testing to ensure the content was grounded in the culture, needs, and strengths of AI/AN communities.
