Many people with diabetes face high out-of-pocket costs for essential medications like GLP-1s and SGLT2 inhibitors, leading to delayed fills, poor adherence, and worsening health. In 2025, Medicare launched the Medicare Prescription Payment Plan (M3P), allowing beneficiaries to spread prescription costs across the year instead of paying in full at the pharmacy counter. Although M3P aims to reduce financial barriers and improve access, it remains unfamiliar to many patients and healthcare providers. This educational poster will explain how M3P works, highlight its impact on diabetes medication access, and provide practical guidance for diabetes care and education specialists to support patients in understanding and using this important new benefit.
