In the US, T2D is the most common form of diabetes, affecting carbohydrate metabolism and representing 90-95% of all diabetes cases. Its development is driven by insulin resistance and/or insufficient insulin production. T2D affects about 11% of Asian Americans, with 10% of that group being Filipino Americans. This poster explores the impact of cultural perceptions on diabetes self-care among Filipino-Americans with T2D.
